Welcome to the home of BRC Area 2

We are part of British Riding Clubs. (BRC) exists to provide support and encouragement to amateur riders of all levels. From the dedicated competitor to the leisure rider.

We offer a range of events and training through Area 2 during the year, both through qualifiers for BRC Championships and also through our Winter League which runs from October to March.

Our clubs and centres give BRC members the chance to ride, compete and train together at national competitions, training and social events.

Please look at the BRC Championship updates on the Event page.

News

MICROCHIPPING - From 1st January 2020 all horses must be microchipped-spot checks will be carried out

Times for Area 2 Horse Trials 20.6.21 will be published on Friday 11th June 5.p.m.  The unaffiliated HT competition  has been closed. 8.6.21.

Thank you to all who came to Richmond on Saturday and Sunday, dry weather albeit it slightly cold, but eventually we managed to get the Arena Eventing run as an event.  The turnout of the horses was very good, riders nerves became calm eventually, organisers and volunteers welcomed seeing all the Area 2 riders.   Thank you.

The week before we managed to hold the Riding Test and Prix Caprilli, a competition not held very often now, but all seemed to enjoy it and maybe it will show it's head again.

Thank you to both Holmside Hall EC and Richmond EC for their tremendous efforts in making sure we could hold these events.

The Arena Eventing marked the end of the Winter League this year and the points are posted on this website under Results, Well done to Corbridge Ash team who beat Yarm Red team by one point.  The junior teams had a bit of catching up to beat Barnard Castle Purple team.  Well done everyone who has taken part throughout a very long year.

Our next event will be the Horse Trial qualifiers at Northallerton EC on Sunday 20th June.  If you are interested ask about this with your club.

Best wishes to everyone, and continue to stay safe.

To those riders looking for the photographs, Jamie Sproats Photography was the man at Holmside and Paul Dobson Photograhpy was the man at Richmond.

Some lovely photos.

Please stay safe and look after yourselves, animals and family.
